|Help me find a cure for arthritis!|
|My name is Taylor Van Emmerik, and I am very honored to be the 2017 Sioux Falls Jingle Bell Honoree! |
I was diagnosed with arthritis when I was 9 years old. I noticed something was wrong when my right ankle became as a big as a water balloon and my fingers were swollen. When I found out I had arthritis, I felt scared, nervous and lonely. At that point I didn’t realize that I was not the only kid with arthritis. Having arthritis meant that I had to say no to playing some sports and games at school. I think it is important for people to know that arthritis means that you have to say no to somethings that you want to do, you may be stiff in the mornings, and have pain randomly throughout the day. Supporting the Arthritis Foundation is important to me because the more money the Arthritis Foundation gets, the closer we are to a cure. The Arthritis Foundation makes it so that all those with arthritis know that they aren’t alone. I said “Yes” to being an Honoree for this event because I believe that the more awareness we raise the easier it is for those just diagnosed. Please join me in supporting this wonderful cause! Join my team and walk or run with us, or jingle in your jammies if you can't make the event!! Any donations would also be appreciated!
